At a recent debate hosted by Thought Leadership Digibates on 19 January 2012, search marketing was the keyword on everyone’s lips. Aegis Media CEO, Dawn Rowlands said that search marketing is something that needs to be incorporated into every marketing strategy.
Mobile and search was also very high on the discussion list. According to Google, search via smart phones increased by 400%. In the past mobile marketing took up to 5% of marketing budgets. In 2012 mobile marketing is predicted to take about 15% of all marketing budgets. Digital strategies should focus more on mobile marketing. In South Africa up to 33 of the top 100 brands are online.
The panel of experts who discussed this important aspects includes Dawn Rowlands, Jon Ratcliffe Google SA’s CEO, Peter Stewart MD of Clickthinking/iProspect, Ettiene Beneke head of SEO, Clickthinking/iProspect; and Paul Galatis founder of Yuppiechef.
